Four Individuals Charged with Obtaining Money by False Pretenses

Four individuals were charged in connection with an alleged offense of obtaining money by false pretenses, involving a sum of $15,000,000. The charges were brought against:

Trevon Lancelot Simpson, 40, a contractor from Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara

Stephan James, 42, a porter from Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown

Andrew Williams, 38, a real estate agent from Triumph, East Coast Demerara

Abeeka Archer, 40, a land surveyor from Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara

The offense reportedly occurred between November 10, 2025, and November 26, 2025, on Durban Street in Georgetown.

The four accused made an appearance at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court on Monday, December 15, 2025, before Senior Magistrate Fabayo Azore. During the proceedings, the charge of obtaining money by false pretense, contrary to Section 194 of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01, was read to them.

All four accused pleaded not guilty to the charges. Bail was set at $100,000 for Trevon Lancelot Simpson, Stephan James, and Andrew Williams, while Abeeka Archer was released on her own recognizance.

The matter has been adjourned to January 26, 2026, for further proceedings.
