A resident from Roxanne Burnham Gardens, 59-year-old Trevon Bacchus, lost his life on Monday following a hit-and-run accident along Cemetery Road.

According to a statement from Police Headquarters, Bacchus was riding an electric cycle around 00:30 hrs when he was struck by a Toyota Rumion (license plate PAB 6212), driven by an unidentified individual.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the vehicle was traveling north in the western drive lane of Cemetery Road at a high rate of speed when it collided with Bacchus, who was riding along the extreme western edge of the road. Reports suggest that the driver lost control of the vehicle, resulting in the collision.

After the incident, the driver did not stop and continued north before turning west onto Princess Street. Police are actively searching for the driver, who remains at large.

Bacchus sustained injuries to his head and body and was transported to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. His body has since been moved to the hospital mortuary, awaiting a post-mortem examination.

Investigations are ongoing, with police reviewing CCTV footage from the area in an effort to gather more information about the incident.
