The decomposed body of a man was found inside a barrel at Le Repentir Cemetery on Christmas Day, raising concerns and prompting an immediate police investigation.
According to a statement from Police Headquarters, the victim, believed to be of African descent, has not yet been positively identified. The discovery was made after law enforcement officers responded to a 911 report regarding suspicious activity in the area.
Upon arrival, authorities located the body inside a barrel within the cemetery grounds. Investigators promptly processed the scene, and the body was later removed by undertakers and transported to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home for further examination.
Additionally, it was noted that CCTV cameras in the vicinity are under review as part of the ongoing investigation. Authorities are urging anyone with information related to this case to come forward.
