A 31-year-old taxi driver was arrested on Sunday after allegedly inflicting a serious injury on his 52-year-old neighbor during a violent confrontation.

According to a report from Police Headquarters, the incident occurred around 12:30 AM in Enmore. The victim, a labourer, suffered a chop to the head and is currently admitted in stable condition at the Enmore Regional Hospital.
The altercation reportedly began as a verbal argument between the two men, both residents of Enmore. During the dispute, the taxi driver is said to have seized a cutlass from the older man and struck him on the left side of his head.
Following the assault, the victim collapsed a short distance away. Law enforcement officers on mobile patrol arrived shortly thereafter and promptly transported him to the hospital for medical treatment.
The suspect was later apprehended at the Enmore Police Station and was also taken to the hospital for medical attention.
Investigation into the incident is ongoing as authorities gather more details.
