Anthony Mathurin, a 53-year-old resident of Greenheart Street, was found deceased in his yard on Tuesday evening, prompting an investigation by local authorities.
According to a statement from Police Headquarters, Mathurin’s death occurred sometime between 21:40 and 23:45 hours on Tuesday. Relatives discovered him lying motionless in his yard and quickly called Emergency Medical Technicians. Upon arrival, the medical team examined Mathurin but pronounced him dead shortly thereafter.
Initial reports indicate that Mathurin had been suffering from an illness. His body has been transported to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, where it awaits a post-mortem examination to ascertain the cause of death.
Authorities noted that CCTV footage from the area will be reviewed as part of the investigation. While no arrests have been made at this time, several individuals have been questioned as inquiries continue into the circumstances surrounding Mathurin’s death.
