A 39-year-old labourer, Jaichan Castello, has been granted bail in the amount of $100,000 following charges of sexual assault related to an incident that occurred on October 14, 2025, at Westbury Back Dam, Essequibo Coast.
Castello appeared before the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, where the charge was presented. He pleaded not guilty to the allegations.
Bail was granted under the condition that Castello must refrain from approaching or having any contact with the victim while the case is pending. The next court date has been set for Wednesday, February 24, 2026.
