Two Women Arrested with 345.8 Pounds of Cannabis in West Coast Berbice

Two women are in custody following a police operation that intercepted 345.8 pounds of ganja during a stop-and-search along the Number 10 Public Road on Saturday.

According to police reports, the operation took place around 7:20 AM when officers stopped a motor car occupied by the two women and requested to search the vehicle. During the search, police discovered several brown salt bags and black garbage bags in the trunk, containing bulky parcels wrapped in transparent plastic, which were identified as cannabis.

The women were arrested and taken to the Fort Wellington Police Station, where the cannabis was officially weighed at 345.8 pounds. Both suspects remain in police custody as investigations into the matter continue.
