News Source Guyana Reports | Three individuals have tragically lost their lives in an accident along the new Wisroc Public Road late last night. Among the deceased is well-known spiritual leader Andrew Irving, who was traveling in the vehicle with the other two victims.
The other victims have been identified as Marcus Berley, the driver of the car, and Maureen Woodley, a passenger. The accident occurred shortly after 10 PM, with all three individuals pronounced dead at the scene.
Reports indicate that the car was traveling at a high speed when the driver attempted to overtake a container truck parked on the side of the roadway. In a tragic turn of events, he collided with the back of the truck while trying to avoid oncoming traffic from the opposite direction.
Both the driver and the two passengers, including Irving seated in the front and Woodley in the back, succumbed to their injuries instantly.
Authorities have detained the truck driver and his porter for questioning, as reports suggest that the truck’s trailer had a lighting issue and was stationary for repairs at the time of the accident.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
