A 34-year-old woman is currently hospitalized after being attacked by a masked man on Tuesday night.
According to reports from Police Headquarters, the incident occurred around 7:00 PM while the woman was seated on her veranda with several family members. During this time, a masked assailant approached and attacked her.

In an attempt to escape, the woman fled into a neighbor’s yard, but the suspect pursued her, causing her to fall and sustain injuries to her head and body. In a shocking turn of events, the attacker reportedly discharged two rounds in her direction before fleeing the scene.
The woman was promptly taken to a private medical facility, where she was admitted and is currently receiving treatment for her injuries. Police located a suspected 9mm spent shell at the scene, which has been lodged as evidence. Additionally, CCTV footage from the area has been identified and will be reviewed as part of the ongoing investigation.
In connection with the attack, a 39-year-old auto body technician from La Grange is now in police custody as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
