Jaswant Murilal, a 27-year-old man from Lot 21 First Street, Martyrsville, Mon Repos, appeared before the Diamond Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, facing charges of dangerous driving.
Murilal pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined G$50,000 or, in default, he faces 12 months’ imprisonment. The charge arose in response to public outrage following a viral video that captured him driving at high speed along the Ogle/Eccles Highway.
