Man Previously Wanted by Police Gunned Down in Albouystown

News

HGP Nightly News Reports | A man previously wanted by police in connection with a series of armed robberies was shot dead execution-style on Thursday night in Albouystown. The deceased has been identified as Kevon Ridley, also known as “Arthur,” a resident of the area, who was gunned down along James Street.

Preliminary reports indicate that a masked gunman approached Ridley and opened fire before fleeing the scene on an XR motorcycle. The shooting resulted in three other individuals being injured; however, their current conditions remain unclear as they were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.

Ridley had previously been arrested in 2023 during a police raid at Stabroek Market, where he was wanted for questioning related to a string of armed robberies. Authorities had also linked him to the discharge of a loaded firearm during an incident on Lime Street, Werk-en-Rust in December of that year. During the raid, Ridley was found in possession of a small quantity of cannabis and was subsequently taken into custody at the Brickdam Police Station.

At this time, no arrests have been made in connection with Ridley’s shooting, and investigations are ongoing. Police are actively pursuing leads to find the individual responsible for the attack.
