Travis Brewster, known as “Turpin,” a 34-year-old gold miner from Victory Valley, Wismar, Linden, has been charged in connection with the alleged murder of Emmanuel Williams, also known as “Chiney.” Williams died on January 23, 2026, at 14 Mile, Issano Landing, Middle Mazaruni.
Brewster, who is employed as a miner in Bartica, appeared via Zoom before Magistrate Teriq Mohamed at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court on January 30, 2026. The murder charge was read to him, but he was not required to plead, as it is an indictable offense. He was remanded to prison and is scheduled to appear in court again on February 27, 2026.
Additionally, Brewster was previously wanted for the murder of Ron Clarke in Linden on July 17, 2025. He was arrested by police a few days ago as part of the ongoing investigation into both murder cases.
