The Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA) has reported an impressive milestone, announcing that the country welcomed 34,923 visitors in January 2026, marking the highest monthly visitor arrivals ever recorded for that month. This figure represents a substantial 17.2% increase compared to January 2025, indicating a strong start to the new tourism year.
The GTA highlighted that the United States remains the leading source market for tourists, contributing 38% of total arrivals. Following the U.S., the Caribbean accounted for 29%, while Latin America represented 13%. Canada and Europe contributed 8% and 6%, respectively.
