In a shocking incident early this morning, around 3:00 AM on Saturday, February 7, 2026, a gold miner identified as “JJ Marciano” was brutally hacked to death by one of his employees at his camp site located in the Fourteen Miles Issano Backdam, Region Seven, Cuyuni – Mazaruni.
The alleged assailant, known as “Edward,” is reported to be from the Manawarin community in Region One. Following the attack, he escaped with an undisclosed quantity of raw gold.
Local police from the Issano Community responded swiftly after being alerted to the crime. They commenced an investigation and initiated a manhunt for the suspect, who remains at large.
