Police have apprehended a 19-year-old resident of Annai in connection with the murder of 21-year-old tour guide John Elliot, who was fatally stabbed last September.

In an official release, authorities reported that the suspect was arrested on Tuesday night following an operation in his residence. Officers arrived at the location around 11:30 PM and found several individuals inside. A subsequent search led to the discovery of a quantity of suspected cannabis in the possession of the 19-year-old.
In addition to the suspect, five male juveniles and a 21-year-old male were also taken into custody and transported to the Annai Police Station, where they are assisting with ongoing investigations.
The suspected narcotics were weighed in the presence of the suspect, totaling 11 grams, before being formally lodged as evidence.
Investigations into both the murder and drug-related charges are currently ongoing. Police continue to seek additional information regarding the case.
