A storage bond in Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara, caught fire on Wednesday afternoon. The facility, owned by businessman Rameez Mohamed, was being rented by Chinese nationals.

Mohamed reported that the fire started around 4:00 p.m., with a loud explosion heard inside the building just before smoke began to emerge.

Firefighters are currently on the scene, working to contain the blaze.
