Today, Minister of Housing Collin Croal met with Mr. Anthony Whyte and Mr. Rafeek Khan, Chairman and Director, and Founder and Director of DuraVilla Homes Guyana, respectively. The meeting addressed the company’s interest in partnering with the government to construct a new model of three-bedroom prefabricated housing units as part of the national housing programme.

Accompanying them were Mr. Intakab Indarjeet, Deputy Director of Projects at the Central Housing and Planning Authority, and Mr. Edward Pillay, Operations Manager of DuraVilla Homes.

Following the presentation by DuraVilla Homes, the team conducted a walkthrough of a model home currently showcased at the Guyana Energy Conference and Supply Chain Expo. The unit encompasses approximately 850 square feet and includes three bedrooms, two bathrooms, as well as living, kitchen, and dining areas.

This initiative highlights the government’s commitment to innovative solutions in housing, aimed at providing safe and affordable homes for all Guyanese.
