Einstein Farouse, a 61-year-old Guyanese male from Lot 4 Lima, has been charged with Driving Whilst Breath Alcohol Level Exceeded the Prescribed Limit, in violation of Section 39(A)(1) of the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic Act, as amended by the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic (Amendment) Act 17/2022.
The offence occurred on Sunday, February 15, 2026, on the La Belle Alliance Public Road. Farouse appeared in the Charity Magistrate’s Court on Monday, March 2, 2026, before His Worship Ravindra Mohabir. After the charge was read, he pleaded guilty.
He was fined $200,000, with a six-month imprisonment sentence to be served if he fails to pay the fine.
Total fine imposed: $200,000. This case continues to highlight the enforcement of D.U.I. regulations for road safety.
