The police are investigating an alleged drowning that occurred on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, between 08:00hrs and 11:05hrs at the Melanie Damishana/Enterprise Access Road. This tragic incident resulted in the deaths of Jadon De Courte, 10, and Tianna De Courte, 8, both pupils from the local Melanie Damishana school.
Preliminary investigations indicate that around 08:00hrs on the day of the incident, the children left their home with their mother and were playing in the area when they reportedly wandered away.
At approximately 11:05hrs, authorities received information that two children were found motionless in a trench at the Melanie/Enterprise Access Road. The mother was notified and later confirmed the identities of the children as her own.
Emergency Medical Technicians arrived on the scene and pronounced both children dead. Notably, no marks of violence were observed on their bodies.
