Minister of Home Affairs Oneidge Walrond convened a meeting with officials from the Ministry of Education and the Director of the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU), James Singh, to enhance a coordinated national approach to drug prevention in schools.

According to a post on Minister Walrond’s Facebook page, the focus of the meeting was on improving collaboration between the education sector and law enforcement in order to tackle drug-related issues affecting students.
The discussions underscored the importance of providing students with accurate information about the dangers of drug use. Participants emphasized the need to equip students with the knowledge and support necessary to make responsible decisions regarding drug use.
Officials agreed that stronger cooperation between agencies is vital for the effective implementation of prevention initiatives within schools across the country.
