According to police reports, the accident involved Singh’s motor car, PXX 9053, a motor lorry, GAB 5416, driven by a 31-year-old man from Leonora, and another motor lorry, GAF 6756, operated by a 21-year-old man from Cornelia Ida, both located on the West Coast Demerara.

Investigations reveal that the two lorries were traveling east along the northern side of the Greenwich Park Public Road when Singh’s car, moving west in the center lane, swerved north into the path of motor lorry GAB 5416. This resulted in a collision with the right-side rear wheel of the lorry, causing Singh’s vehicle to lose control and end up on the southern lane facing west.

In an effort to avoid the ensuing collision, the second lorry also swerved onto the southern lane but crashed head-on into Singh’s car.

Trapped within his vehicle, Singh was extricated by public-spirited citizens and rushed to the De Kinderen Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. His body is currently at the Ezekiel Mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.

Further details from police indicate that a breathalyzer test conducted on the driver of motor lorry GAB 5416 recorded readings of 071 and 072 micrograms of alcohol in his breath, while the driver of motor lorry GAF 6756 recorded 05 micrograms. Both drivers are in police custody as investigations continue.

The vehicles involved in the accident have been taken to a police station for examination.
