A 34-year-old Venezuelan national, Carlos Eliber, tragically lost his life in a traffic accident on Saturday night along the Enmore Public Road.

Reports indicate that the incident occurred at approximately 11:50 PM, involving a motor car, PAN 5007, driven by a 25-year-old man from Blossom Scheme, Enmore, and an electric bicycle ridden by Eliber, a construction worker residing in Mon Repos.
According to police accounts, the motor car was traveling west in the southern driving lane when the electric bike allegedly crossed from north to south into its path. The driver stated that he swerved to avoid a collision and applied the brakes, but the right front section of the vehicle collided with the electric cycle.
The impact caused Eliber to be thrown into the air, landing on the roadway. Emergency Medical Technicians were called to the scene, and a doctor from the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation pronounced him dead upon arrival.
Eliber’s body has been transferred to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home for a post-mortem examination.
A breathalyzer test conducted on the driver showed readings of 35 and 39 micrograms of alcohol in his breath. He is currently in police custody, assisting with the ongoing investigation into the incident.
