Shemroy Robertson, also known as “Minutes,” who was arrested in January 2016 with 1.156 kilograms of cocaine pellets, was on Thursday sentenced to six years’ imprisonment and fined $1.734 million following a trial in the High Court.

The case was heard before Justice Priscilla Chandra-Hanif. Robertson, 42, was arraigned on the offence of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
According to the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU), Robertson was arrested while hiding at a residence on Mandela Avenue, Georgetown. Police said he attempted to discard a bag containing 139 cocaine pellets during a pursuit in January 2016.
CANU also reported that Robertson is currently serving a two-year sentence for charges involving aiding in the commission of trafficking 1.174 kilograms of cannabis. That conviction stemmed from a CANU operation conducted on June 17, 2021, at Anns Grove Public Road, East Coast Demerara.
The matter further noted that Robertson was previously charged alongside three other men in March 2017, but those charges were later dismissed.
