In an update shared on his Facebook page, Singh said 26,639 citizens successfully completed self-registration through the government’s newly launched online portal. He stated that the registration of 13,168 persons has been verified and processed, enabling deposits into their bank accounts within 24 hours. Verification and processing for the remaining registrants are ongoing.

He added that 48,858 public sector workers previously received the cash grants via their bank accounts. With those workers and the 13,000+ additional beneficiaries now receiving the transfer, Singh said the government has already transferred about $6.2 billion directly to Guyanese.

The Finance Minister also reported that more than 22,000 individuals have begun the process on the new portal, and urged them to complete registration in full.

Eligibility requirements to receive the National $100,000 Cash Grant paid into a bank account include:

Must have a valid National Identification Card, Digital Identity Card, or Guyana Passport

Must have a bank account in the registrant’s name at any local commercial bank

Must be physically present in Guyana to register

The government has set up a national help desk, reachable by telephone at 501-5085 and 503-2977 during working hours.
