NCN Reports : Police Sergeant Darrel Wilson, who was seriously injured in last Sunday night’s accident on the Enmore Public Road, has succumbed to his injuries, making him the second fatality from the crash.

Wilson had been hospitalised following the collision, which had already claimed the life of the other driver, 27-year-old labourer Keshon Arthur, who was pronounced dead on arrival at the Enmore Regional Hospital.
According to the Guyana Police Force, Sergeant Wilson was driving motor car PAM 3828 westward along the Enmore Public Road when Arthur, driving motor car PAB 1013, veered into his lane while attempting to overtake several vehicles. Wilson attempted to pull further to the southern side of the road to avoid a collision, but Arthur’s vehicle struck the right-side front of his car.
Both drivers sustained injuries and were removed from their vehicles by public-spirited citizens and Emergency Medical Technicians before being taken to the Enmore Regional Hospital. Arthur was pronounced dead on arrival, while Wilson was admitted with a broken right leg and lacerations about his face and body.
Wilson has since succumbed to those injuries, bringing the death toll from the accident to two.
