In a letter addressed to the Commander of Regional Division Three, which has since circulated online, hotel owner Bhojenarine Bhola cited concerns over safety and public order in light of the planned events.

“As your office is aware, this date marks the one-year anniversary of the discovery of 11-year-old Adrianna Younge at our facility. Public announcements indicate that a commemorative walk is scheduled for the late afternoon of April 24, proceeding from Parika to Tuschen, followed by a memorial service in the immediate vicinity,” Bhola wrote.

He requested security coverage to ensure the safety of staff and patrons, maintain order and prevent traffic disruptions along the Tuschen Public Road, and prevent unauthorized entry or damage to private property during the march.

Adrianna Younge was found dead in a swimming pool at the Double Day Hotel on April 24, 2025, under circumstances her family has described as suspicious. The incident triggered widespread public outrage, sparking protests and unrest across parts of the country. The Double Day Hotel and Bhola’s private residence were subsequently destroyed by fire, allegedly set by protesters.

Today’s commemorative walk from Parika to Tuschen and the memorial service that follows mark one year since the tragedy that shook the nation.
