Robbery at WF Fast Food Restaurant: $70,000 Stolen

A 60-year-old Chinese businessman, Zhao Pe Lizhan, was robbed of $70,000 in cash during a brazen attack at his business, WF Fast Food Restaurant, located in D’Urban Backlands, Georgetown, on Wednesday evening.

The robbery occurred around 6:55 PM and involved four suspects—two males and two females—believed to be juveniles and of African descent. The police are treating the case as one of Robbery with Aggravation.

Reports indicate that Zhao was seated behind the counter when the suspects entered the restaurant. In a coordinated effort, one male and one female suspect restrained him while the other two accessed the cash register, stealing the day’s sales totaling $70,000.

After the theft, the suspects fled the scene, heading west into the D’Urban Backlands area.

The Guyana Police Force has processed the crime scene and is currently reviewing CCTV footage from the restaurant in an attempt to identify and apprehend the suspects. No arrests have been made thus far, and investigations are ongoing.

Authorities encourage anyone with information that may assist in the investigation to come forward.
