Norton Outlines Qualities Sought in Prime Ministerial Candidate For the PNCR

Opposition Leader Aubrey C. Norton has emphasized the essential qualities desired in a prime ministerial candidate for Guyana. Speaking recently, Norton highlighted the need for a candidate who is not only intellectually competent but also deeply rooted in community service and aligned with the party’s vision for the nation.

In his remarks, Norton stated, “There are a number of qualities we are looking for. First, we want to bring diversity to the team. It is crucial to have someone who is intellectually competent but also willing to engage with the community.”

He further elaborated, “Many individuals may possess intellectual prowess, but they tend to be disconnected from the ground realities. We need a candidate who is prepared to work closely with the people and has the intellectual capacity to understand their needs.”

Norton reiterated the importance of commitment to national service, saying, “Whoever becomes the prime ministerial candidate must be someone who serves the people, not themselves. They must buy into the vision we have for Guyana.”

These qualities, according to Norton, are vital for effective leadership in the ongoing political landscape of the country.
