24-Year-Old Man Confesses to Fatal Stabbing at Port Kaituma Waterfront

A 24-year-old man has confessed to fatally stabbing a truck porter early this morning at the Port Kaituma waterfront in Region One (Barima-Waini). The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Rayon Lall, known as ‘Coolie’, from Port Kaituma.

According to police reports, Lall was brought to the Port Kaituma Police Station around 05:00 hrs today with a stab wound to his left side chest, inflicted by another porter. A police officer quickly escorted him to the Port Kaituma Hospital for medical attention; however, despite treatment, Lall later succumbed to his injuries.

His body has been placed in the hospital mortuary, pending a post-mortem examination.

Following up on information received, police arrested the suspect, Mark Junior George, also known as ‘Killa’, a 24-year-old gold miner from Albouystown, at Train Line, Port Kaituma, around 16:30 hrs today. George had previously served a three-year sentence for a narcotics offense.

The suspect was informed of the allegations against him, cautioned, and made aware of his rights. He was taken to the Port Kaituma Police Station, where he was processed and placed in custody, still wearing the clothing linked to the crime. The investigation is ongoing.
