ANUG and WIN Announce Alliance for Upcoming Elections

A New and United Guyana (ANUG) and the We Invest in Nationhood party (WIN) have formed an alliance for the upcoming elections, with ANUG joining under the WIN banner.

In a joint statement released this morning, the political leaders of both parties—Dr. Mark DeFrance of ANUG and Azruddin Mohamed of WIN—confirmed that the agreement has been officially signed. This collaboration aims to strengthen their position for the 2025 General and Regional Elections.

ANUG will contest the elections under the WIN banner, enhancing the campaign’s electoral experience and national reach.

This marks ANUG as the first political party to officially join the WIN platform.

Both parties are committed to running a clean, fair, and respectful campaign, inviting the people of Guyana to participate in this new political direction.

“We are confident that this agreement will enhance our collective capacity to deliver meaningful change and marks the beginning of a broader national movement to unify and uplift Guyana,” the statement read.

It was clarified by a WIN official that this arrangement is not a coalition agreement, but rather a formal alignment under the WIN banner.

ANUG was one of three parties that signed a joinder agreement before the 2020 elections. However, it did not get the opportunity to take up the rotating seat in the National Assembly, as the leader of The New Movement, Dr. Asha Kissoon, held the seat after the election.

Founded in 2019, ANUG had former PPP Executive and former Speaker of the National Assembly, Ralph Ramkarran, as its presidential candidate during the last elections.
