Kamalall Lachminarine, a labourer from Enterprise Garden, East Coast Demerara, has been charged with Simple Larceny following his arrest on July 7, 2025. The charge, which is in accordance with Section 66(c) of the Summary Jurisdiction Offences Act, stems from an incident involving Tara Mohan.
Lachminarine appeared before His Worship Sunil Scarce at Vigilance Magistrate Court #1, where the charge was formally presented. He pleaded not guilty to the offence. Following the hearing, he was granted self-bail.
The case will proceed as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the alleged theft. Further court appearances are expected as the legal process unfolds.
