Victoria Village, East Coast Demerara – Osafo Collins, known as ‘Blackboy,’ a 29-year-old plumber from Victoria Village, was arrested by a rank from the Cove and John Police Station and charged with sexual assault on July 16, 2025. The charge was laid under Section 4(a)(1) of the Sexual Offences Act, Chapter 8:03.
Collins appeared before Magistrate Orinthia Schmidt at the Cove and John Magistrate Court, where the charge was read to him. He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail set at $50,000.
The court has adjourned the matter to July 30, 2025, for the submission of statements.
