In a passionate statement shared on social media, Hon. Annette F. Ferguson MP firmly rejected former APNU+AFC Member of Parliament Jermaine Figueira’s recent endorsement of the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) and his call for political allegiance change in Linden.

Ferguson declared, “No, Jermaine Figueira, you will NOT have it your way. Lindeners will reject the PPP/C on September 1, 2025!” She challenged Figueira on several critical issues facing the community, questioning how he could represent the people when unresolved tragedies, such as the deaths of young men Ranoldo Peters and Eon Fogenay, continue to haunt the community.
She highlighted the discrimination faced by teachers, nurses, and public servants, and criticized the government for the incomplete infrastructure projects, including the Bamia Secondary School, Mackenzie Sports Club, and the Synthetic Track.
“How can you do this to your people when the government has failed to deliver the promised 1,000 house lots?” she asked. Ferguson also pointed out the stagnation of local businesses due to the lack of a reconstituted board for the Linden Enterprise Network (LEN) and the non-operational status of the call center, which has left many young people without jobs.
“The Linden Town Council is being undermined by the imposition of an unelected Town Clerk, stifling the work of elected officials,” she added, emphasizing the need for accountability and representation in local governance.
Ferguson concluded her statement by urging the community to remember the unfulfilled promises and failures of the current government. “Lindeners will never forget, nor will they forgive,” she stated, encouraging residents to stand firm in their beliefs as the election approaches.
“My brother, go down smartly. The people are ready,” she concluded, rallying her supporters to prepare for the upcoming elections.
