Seon Delon Fraser, a 34-year-old resident of Nabaclis Squatting Area, East Coast Demerara, was arrested on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the Itaballi Police Checkpoint after being found with 87.2 grams of suspected cannabis.
Fraser was a passenger in a motor lorry (GAD 9344) traveling from Bartica to Quart Stone Backdam when the vehicle was stopped for inspection. During a search of his belongings, police discovered the narcotics concealed within a Fruita juice box. A total of 52 transparent ziplock bags containing leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis were recovered.
Upon being informed of the offense and cautioned, Fraser admitted, “That is my weed and I am taking it into the backdam to sell.” He has been arrested and is currently in custody pending charges.
