Kaieteur News Reports : Local entertainer Kwasi Edmonson, known as Kwasi Ace, expressed frustration over being banned from government-sponsored events for five years since the PPP/C took office.

Despite his talent, he claims Culture Minister Charles Ramson Jr. is behind efforts to stifle his career. Edmonson believes his outspokenness on various issues has led to this blacklisting, which he says has severely impacted his livelihood and health.
He revealed that he was removed from a “Mash” launch performance at the Ministry of Housing after a meeting led by Minister Susan Rodrigues. Edmonson criticized the current music scene, stating that many performers lack his experience yet dominate the stage due to favoritism.
While he has received offers from political parties to run for office, he declined, emphasizing his desire to remain independent and express himself freely. He fears that even if the current government remains in power, his situation will not improve.
Edmonson hopes to engage with President Irfaan Ali and Minister Ramson to address his concerns, urging that future governance should be impartial and benefit all citizens of Guyana.
