The Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) has seized a significant quantity of cannabis and cocaine following an operation at the Transport Wharf on Water Street, Kingston, Georgetown.

On Friday, March 20, 2026, CANU ranks acted on information received and intercepted a suspect carrying two cardboard boxes. During a search of the boxes, officers reportedly found thirteen parcels containing cannabis and one parcel containing rock cocaine.
The suspect, 46-year-old Jermain Mickle of Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara, was arrested and taken to CANU Headquarters along with the narcotics.
CANU said the drugs seized weighed 12.104 kilogrammes of cannabis and 1.272 kilogrammes of cocaine. Investigations are ongoing.
