A 54-year-old cattle owner from Garden of Eden, East Bank Demerara, appeared at the Diamond Magistrate’s Court on Friday, June 5, 2026, to face charges related to livestock roaming in residential areas.

Denesh Rohit was formally charged with four counts of Suffering Animals to Stray, a violation of Section 28(1)(a) of the Road Act, Chapter 51:01. The charges stem from incidents allegedly occurring within the Prospect Young Professional Housing Scheme and the Farm Housing Scheme.
Appearing before His Worship Magistrate Dylon Bess, Rohit entered a plea of not guilty to all four counts. He was granted bail in the amount of $40,000 GYD.
The case has been adjourned until June 26, 2026, for further proceedings.
