Howdy and how are you, I hope all is well. In today blog post I will explain in details how to start a youtube channel in Guyana, Advice you on the basic tips you will need to succeed and why I personally think every guyanese should start a youtube channel. Before I get into the details of this blog post let me remind you that there are a ton of ways to make money from home in guyana… I recently wrote an article that covers all you need to know. You can do so by checking out this blog post : Do This and You can Make Money Every Day in Guyana

Let’s Begin, It’s a known fact that guyana Content creators are never rewarded for their content due to limited availability of social payments and our geographic location. Most of the Social Platforms that pay Content Creators including tiktok, facebook, instagrm all have restrictions where guyanese are concerned. Youtube is the only platform where I notice youtube allows guyanese to earn fairly if they put in the work.

How to get Started ?

Well for starters you want to visit the youtube website and sign up for a new account, You will need a Gmail Account to do so. The sign up process is very simple and easy. After Signing up there are some settings you need to enable to allow monetization. In the screen shot below I will guide you to those very settings. Step one Head over to the Youtube Studio Section. This will give you all the basic settings to your youtube channel.

Next you will click on Settings. This will take you to the basic adjustment settings we will need to make in order to enable monetization for Guyana.

In the screenshot above you can see the earn option listed that is because I have already enabled the setting for my account. So once you click on settings your goal will be to change the Country from Guyana to the United States. This will allow your Channel to be apart of the Youtube Partner Program.

So you will click channel, then change the country to the united states , after which you will click save. Now this will give you the ability to work on your progress to being monetized. There are two ways that leads to your monetization journey.

The completion of 1000 Subscribers and 4000 watch Hours. Combine these two requirements and you are on your way to getting a monetized youtube channel, There are some finer tips i can provide on achieving these numbers but this tutorial is to enable guyanese the basics they need to know. Now while you are working on your Monetization threshold there are some other things you need to work on and that is getting your payment information set up that way when you are monetized it will be easier for you.

How to set up youtube payments for Guyanese

Youtube pays through the Google adsense program so ulitmately your goal will be to sign up to Google Adsense. https://adsense.google.com/start/

The adsense program helps content creators to monetize both youtube and blogs so if you ever want to start a blogging journey you can make money from both youtube and a website at the same time. Here is more information on blogging : How to make money blogging in 2024 , My other article on blogging here : Guyanese Publisher Make Money Blogging

Signing up for the Adsense program is very simple, they ask for your address and they will send you a mail to verify your adsense account in two weeks,

Once this Envelope arrives at your address inside will have a code that will enable you to activate your adsense account. Once you do, you will have access to the adsense dashboard to add websites and youtube channels to be monetized.

Once you add your youtube channel / website the adsense platform will take a few days to verify , process and check to ensure your website is eligible for monetization. Once that happens you should be on your way to having everything set up. From here your next step will be to connect your local Bank Account. This can be done in the payment section of your adsense account.

In the payment section they allow you to add two methods, your banking information or you can have adsense send you a check, either one if fine but its better to set up the bank option as it allows you to recieve a payment into your bank account which builds a relationship with your bank as you can now provide proof of funds. So fill out the necessary information then continue to work on your youtube channel until its monetized. Your payments will be sent to your local bank account Monthly.

At first the youtube monetization process will be alittle hard to get the subscribers , but with consistency you can put in the work and get monetized.
