Position Overview:
Guyana Marketing Corporation is looking for a marketing officer to join our team. The marketing officer will play a vital role in managing the marketing activities of the corporation, including the Guyana Shop, packaging facilities, extension, and agribusiness development. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the promotion of agricultural and traditional commodities in Guyana.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing marketing activities, including those related to the Guyana Shop, packaging facilities, extension, and agribusiness development.
- Conduct market research and employ best practices and techniques.
- Implement social media marketing strategies.
- Utilize knowledge of the agricultural sector and agricultural marketing to drive initiatives.
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Display initiative and proficiency in report writing.
- Familiarity with graphic design programs, such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Corel Draw, is an asset.
Requirements:
To be considered for the position of marketing officer, applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Possession of a diploma in marketing or a related field from a recognized university
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in market research practices and techniques
- Knowledge of social media marketing.
- Understanding of the Agricultural Sector and Agricultural Marketing
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong initiative and report-writing skills
- Working knowledge of graphic design programs (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Corel Draw) is advantageous.
