Minister Edghill Reassures Baramita Residents of Ongoing Development

Minister of Public Works, Bishop Juan Edghill, recently visited the community of Baramita in Region One, emphasizing the numerous government-financed projects that have been launched in the village. During his four-day visit to the hinterland region, he addressed residents’ concerns as part of the government’s ongoing engagement efforts.

Since 2020, Baramita has seen significant advancements in health, education, and economic activity. Notably, the community received a $16 million all-terrain ambulance to ensure prompt transport for sick or injured individuals to the nearest health facility. Additionally, local health centers have been retrofitted with telemedicine equipment to enhance healthcare delivery.

Minister Edghill reassured residents that these developments are the result of careful and strategic planning, stating, “In your village, as you ride, you walk, and you operate, you are sure that the President Irfaan Ali-led administration has brought development to the village and people of Baramita.”

He emphasized that the progress in Baramita is not isolated but is achieved through extensive consultation and participation from the community. Addressing the crowd, he urged residents to remain “conscious about Guyana’s future” and to support President Ali and the PPP/C for a second term in office, which was met with loud applause.

The Minister’s visit reaffirms the government’s commitment to fostering development and ensuring that the voices of the community are heard and integrated into future plans.
