Position: Communication Officer

Location: Board’s Secretariat, National Agricultural Research Extension Institute (NAREI) Compound, Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara

About Us: The Ministry of Agriculture’s Pesticides and Toxic Chemicals Control Board, operating under the Pesticides and Toxic Chemicals Control Act and its Regulations, is responsible for the comprehensive management of pesticides and toxic chemicals. In an ongoing effort to enhance engagement with the general public and various stakeholders through diverse media platforms, the Board is looking to hire a skilled Communications Officer.

Key Responsibilities: The Communication Officer will play a crucial role in planning, developing, and implementing communication strategies to promote, strengthen, and enhance chemicals management in Guyana. The incumbent will be responsible for engaging with the public, stakeholders, and the media. A detailed Terms of Reference for this position is available on the Board’s Facebook page.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies with 3 years’ experience OR
• Diploma in Communication Studies with 5 years’ experience
• Computer literacy
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, reporting, and presentation skills

Remuneration: A competitive salary package will be offered for this position, commensurate with qualifications and experience, and is negotiable.
