Parika Labourer Arrested with Narcotics

News

A 27-year-old labourer, Clive Moses, was arrested yesterday evening after police discovered a significant quantity of narcotics during a routine search at Parika Junction. Acting on intelligence, officers from Regional Division #3 approached Moses around 5:30 PM while he was standing near a black Luminus motorcycle in front of the Shiraz Gas Station.

An inspector informed Moses that they had received information regarding his involvement in drug sales and requested to search him. Moses complied without objection. During the search, police found $135,000 in cash concealed in his pants pocket.

When questioned about the motorcycle, Moses claimed ownership. Officers proceeded to search the vehicle and discovered a transparent plastic bag hidden under the seat. Inside, they found several zip-lock bags containing 75 grams of suspected cannabis and 24 grams of suspected amphetamine, commonly known as “Molly.”

Upon being informed of the charges, Moses reportedly stated, “Sir, is a small hussle I’m doing, we can work out something.” He was subsequently arrested and taken to the Parika Police Station along with the seized narcotics, cash, and motorcycle.

Moses remains in custody as investigations continue into the case.
