News Source Guyana Reports : Dr. Terrence Campbell, the incoming Parliamentary Leader for the A Partnership for National Unity (APNU), emphasized the importance of collaboration among opposition parties in the National Assembly to effectively hold the government accountable.

In an interview scheduled to air this Sunday on SOURCES, Dr. Campbell highlighted the necessity for the three opposition parties to unite on significant national issues. He specifically pointed to electoral reform as a priority area for joint action.

“We are going to talk about elections; we are going to talk about electoral reform,” Dr. Campbell stated. “In electoral reform, we will discuss key elements like biometrics and access to media. I believe that electoral reform is an important issue that the entire opposition should come together on.”

Despite the potential lack of cooperation from the WIN party and Forward Guyana Movement, Dr. Campbell assured that APNU Members of Parliament will remain a determined force in the House, even with their reduced number of seats. He expressed confidence that MPs are preparing to advocate for national issues vigorously.

“If there is any attempt by the government to derail our agenda, we will amplify our positions using various platforms outside of the Assembly,” he said. “Members of Parliament must utilize their standing to push the government. If we are not gaining traction on our legislative agenda within the House, we will engage the public to explain our objectives and how they benefit the nation.”

On foreign policy, particularly regarding Venezuela, Dr. Campbell reiterated APNU’s commitment to working collaboratively with both the government and other opposition parties to protect Guyana’s territorial integrity. He firmly stated, “Guyana’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are non-negotiable.”

As APNU prepares to enter the National Assembly, Dr. Campbell’s vision emphasizes unity and proactive engagement to address pressing national issues and safeguard the interests of the Guyanese people.
