The Ministry of Education has expressed deep concern regarding two recent incidents of bullying among students that have surfaced on social media. The first incident involved students from Charity Secondary School and 8th of May Secondary School in Region Two, while the second took place at New Campbellville Secondary School in Georgetown.

In a press statement, the Ministry condemned all forms of bullying and reiterated its commitment to providing a safe, respectful, and supportive educational environment for all learners. To address these troubling incidents, the Ministry has launched thorough investigations to gather facts and determine appropriate disciplinary actions.

The Ministry emphasized the importance of reporting any acts of intimidation or violence, urging students, parents, and educators to come forward with information. “Bullying has no place in our education system,” the statement read. “Together, as schools, families, and communities, we must foster environments where every child feels safe, valued, and able to learn.”

The Ministry’s proactive stance aims to ensure that such incidents are addressed swiftly and effectively, reinforcing the commitment to a secure and nurturing educational atmosphere for all students in Guyana.
