Victor Elumezie, a security guard residing on Pere Street, Kitty, has been arrested and charged with multiple offences under the Cybercrime Act 2018.

Elumezie is accused of transmitting an image of a person’s private area using a computer system, as well as committing two counts of using a computer system to coerce, intimidate, humiliate, or harass—actions that violate the Cybercrime Act.

On Tuesday, December 2, 2025, Elumezie appeared before Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court, where the charges were formally presented. He pleaded not guilty to the allegations and was subsequently remanded to prison.

The court has adjourned the cases to January 7, 2026, and January 30, 2026, for further proceedings. The situation underscores the serious nature of cybercrime and its legal implications in Guyana.
