President Irfaan Ali took to Facebook to express the government’s stance on recent developments in Venezuela following the capture of Nicolás Maduro by the United States.
In his post, President Ali emphasized the importance of stability, adherence to the law, and democratic transitions for both Venezuela and the wider Americas. He reaffirmed Guyana’s support for efforts that promote democratic norms and champion the region as a Zone of Peace.
The President also acknowledged the leadership of the U.S. in reinforcing commitments to freedom, democracy, and regional security. He expressed optimism for constructive engagement in what he termed “Venezuela’s next chapter,” highlighting the importance of these efforts for the benefit of all Venezuelans.
