During the search of the vehicle, officers found a multi-coloured haversack on the back seat, which contained two black plastic bags filled with several whitish, rock-like substances believed to be cocaine.

The three occupants were identified as a 29-year-old taxi driver from Spring Garden, Essequibo Coast; a 45-year-old mason from Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara; and a 34-year-old fisherman from Good Hope, East Coast Demerara. They were arrested and escorted to the Suddie Police Station along with the suspected narcotics.

The seized substance was later weighed in the presence of the suspects, totaling 1,539 grams (approximately 3.392 pounds). The suspected cocaine has been lodged as evidence.

The suspects remain in police custody as investigations into the matter continue. Police have not released any further details regarding potential charges at this time.
