Three individuals were arrested on Wednesday night after police officers discovered a quantity of cannabis at the Four Miles Housing Scheme in Bartica.

According to a statement from Police Headquarters, the incident occurred around 6:00 PM when officers responded to a report of suspicious activity. Upon arrival, officers observed a bag being thrown over the back fence of a building where the three individuals were present.
Officers swiftly proceeded to the backyard, where they found the three occupants. A search was conducted, resulting in the retrieval of the bag, which was found to contain a transparent plastic bag filled with several small ziplock parcels. These parcels contained leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis.
The arrested individuals include a 23-year-old male construction worker and a 25-year-old male construction worker, both from Three Miles, Bartica, along with a 35-year-old female businesswoman residing in the Four Miles Housing Scheme. They were taken to the Bartica Police Station for further processing.
The suspected cannabis was weighed in their presence, totaling 288 grams before being officially logged. The suspects remain in police custody as investigations into the case continue.
