A 43-year-old man, identified as Arvindo Mahaballi, died on Sunday after being struck by a motor car while crossing the Lusignan Public Road.

The accident occurred around 7:18 PM and involved motor car PAK 2521, driven by a 28-year-old taxi driver from Buxton. Preliminary investigations indicate that the vehicle was traveling west along the northern driving lane of the southern carriageway when it collided with Mahaballi, who was reportedly crossing the roadway.
Mahaballi sustained multiple injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by a doctor from the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation. His body was subsequently transported to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, awaiting a post-mortem examination.
A breathalyser test conducted on the driver showed readings of 0.032% and 0.029% blood alcohol content (BAC). The vehicle involved has been lodged for examination, and the driver remains in police custody as he assists with ongoing investigations.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident to determine the full circumstances surrounding the tragic accident.
