Relatives of 28-year-old Trelon Frank believe he may have died from electrocution after visible burn marks were discovered on his body following his death on Monday.

Frank’s mother, Nicola Christian, who resides at Lot 172 Levi Dam, Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam, Berbice, noted that the burns on her son’s hands and back strongly indicate that he suffered an electric shock.
A post-mortem examination is scheduled for Wednesday to determine the official cause of death, but Christian expresses her strong suspicion that electrocution was the cause.
In her Berbice home, Christian recounted her last communication with Frank. They exchanged texts on Saturday, in which she asked if he would attend the Mashramani celebrations. He replied uncertainly, saying, “yes, but I ain’t really telling yuh if ah gon’ come. If yuh see ah come, yuh see me.” This would be the last time she heard from him.
Frank, a security guard who relocated to the ‘E’ Field area of Sophia about five years ago, was the fourth of eight children. Family members mentioned that he had been working in the security sector for roughly five months prior to his untimely death.
At approximately 9:52 a.m. on Monday, Christian received a shocking phone call from her elder sister. “I was at home the morning, then I got a phone call. She asked me when last I saw my two sons. I said, ‘Trelon working in town, he doing security…’ She said, ‘he got shock, he died,’” Christian recalled.
Frank was reported to have lived alone and kept many of his personal affairs private. While his mother was unaware of any recent issues, his father mentioned hearing that someone had been chasing Frank after a confrontation with a man in Georgetown. However, relatives noted no visible signs of a physical assault, and found jewelry and cash on his person, effectively ruling out robbery.
Authorities are expected to conduct the post-mortem examination to officially determine the cause of death, as the family seeks clarity in this tragic situation.
